Gathering Mahti is a way to combat the the colonial structure of knowledge that has become foundational in this modern world. “Mahti” is nahuatl for knowing deeply, to feel based on knowledge, understanding. I gather pieces of knowledge and imperfectly fill my open heart to reconnect with my ancestry and remember a way of knowing from before colonists.
